When my partner and I got engaged in January 2010, we couldn’t wait to set a date. But when we looked into the costing of having a wedding in England we were quite shocked. We realised that we would have to save for a number of years before we could even consider setting a date.
This is when we looked into getting married abroad; we looked at many destinations such as the Caribbean, Cyprus, Florida and even Las Vega. However our eyes kept straying back to the magnificent Blue Lagoon Beach in a resort called Olu Deniz. I looked at hundreds of pictures and read many reviews.
One particular review was written by a lady whose daughter got married at the Blue Lagoon Beach, the lady spoke so highly of the place and she was even kind enough to email me over some pictures of her daughters wedding. It looked amazing, that was it our mind was made up, we were going to get married at the Blue Lagoon Beach in Olu Deniz.
I found Ali after searching on the internet and I knew immediately we had found the perfect person to help organise our wedding. I kept in contact we Ali via email and then phone, he answered all my questions, queries professionally and promptly.
Some people thought that it would be complicated for us to get married abroad, but with Ali assisting us every step of the way, it couldn’t have been easier. Upon arriving in Olu Deniz on the 23rd May 2011, we couldn’t have felt more at ease; Ali had organised and arranged everything.
Ali even personally came with us to Antalya to the British Consulate and to the hospital, flower shop and to see the wedding man in Fethiye. We did not stay at the Karbel Sun Hotel, however Ali arranged for us to have a room there on the day of the wedding.
My bridesmaids and I used the room on the day of the wedding to get ready and then Chris and I stayed the night of wedding. It was a lovely gesture from Ali and I don’t think any tour operators would have offered to do something so kind.
Our actual wedding day, which was the 31st May 2011 was absolutely amazing. The whole day went so smoothly from start to finish and its all thanks to Ali’s fantastic organising. The Blue Lagoon at sunset has to be the most beautiful place to get married.
The setting was just perfect with the wedding arch, the layout of the guest’s chairs and the most beautiful flowers. The reception was just as perfect with lots of added extras like the fireworks when we walked from the car into the Karbel Sun and when we cut our cake.
We also paid a little extra for a fire dancer, which we kept a secret from our guests. He was fantastic and kept all our guests entertained, he was definitely worth the money. We chose the Turkish BBQ menu option and I would definitely recommend this. The food was out of this world, plenty of it and very tasty!
I can honestly say we had the most amazing day ever, it will never be forgotten. All of our 37 guests commented on what a magnificent and memorable day it was and it all thanks to Ali. Thank you so much Ali for everything, we couldn’t have done it without you.
All of love Nadia & Chris
